Gwin Gryffon Winery Ltd. was incorporated in Kingston, Ontario in 1994 and soon became the city's leader in custom-crafted wine-making. Sourcing the finest juices and juice/concentrate kits available from the country's top three producers, Mosti Mondiale, RJ Spagnols and Vineco. Gwin Gryffon continues its tradition of limited production and fastidious quality control.

The winery is housed in a century building which re-emphasizes the hand-crafted orientation of the business. Clients are invited to participate in the production of their wines, though most often they confine themselves to bottling and labelling. The experience is brief but usually entertaining as they mingle, sharing appraisal of the wines of the day.

The name Gwin Gryffon is derived from the Welsh "gwin" meaning wine and "gryffon" meaning guardian.
